Meet our real #BitsyBride, Annie! For her wedding, Annie wore a sweetheart neckline wedding gown from our shop, Bitsy Bridal, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her gown is a belted, lace fit and flare, which she chose to pair to with a horsehair trim cathedral veil.
The sweetheart neckline is a very flattering shape on all body types, so it is very popular. When a bride wants to show off her shoulders, stylists often recommend a strapless sweetheart neckline, line Annie’s wedding dress. If a bride wants to show off her figure, as well, then stylists will also recommend a fit and flare silhouette.
In her sweetheart neckline wedding gown, Annie took adorable bridal photos in the snow. These photos showed off her long cathedral veil and her sparkly bridal belt. Belting a wedding dress helps draw attention to the bride’s waist. This is especially important in a fit and flare wedding dress.

Andrea’s perfect custom wedding dress features a handkerchief hem and a long sleeved lace bodice. The handkerchief hem is part of the original design of the dress, but our talented Bitsy Bridal alterations team created the bodice from scratch. (Click here for a blog post all about alterations!) Creating a custom bodice is a hefty task, but our team of talented seamstresses specialize in pattern-making, which is crucial to getting the perfect fit in your custom wedding gown.
First, in a custom alterations appointment, our talented seamstress will ask you what you want to change. Then, the seamstress will sketch her vision of what you explain to her. After you agree that she has captured your vision perfectly, then she will begin work on your gown. You will have at least three alterations appointments to make sure that your custom lace bodice ballgown, for example, is perfect.
This wedding dress features a cap sleeve, an illusion neckline and an illusion back. As a result, this gown offers optimal coverage for a bride who wants to be more covered. Then, the bodice of this perfect wedding dress also features beading, which adds glamour. The full ballgown skirt has lace trim on the hem for an added designer touch. Because of this ballgown skirt, the wedding dress draws attention to the bride’s waist, which is very flattering.
Tasha’s wedding dress offers a level of modesty for brides who want to be more covered up, without sacrificing style. The term “illusion neckline” means that there is a strong, high quality, sheer tulle that covers the neckline or backline. Because of this, there is an illusion of a lower neckline or lower backline, without losing support.
If you are looking for your perfect wedding dress, make an appointment at Bitsy Bridal, and we will help you find the wedding dress of your dreams. We can not wait to meet you! ❤
Meet our real #BitsyBride, Melissa. Melissa found her perfect wedding dress at our shop, Bitsy Bridal, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She wore a lacey beaded wedding dress on her dreamy wedding day. Melissa looked and felt her best on her wedding day because of her beautiful wedding gown.
This lacey beaded wedding dress is from the designer Kelly Faetanini, which is based in New York city. Kelly Faetanini is known for her beautiful, unique designs and sleek silhouettes. As a result, brides often choose her styles to wear on their wedding days.
This wedding gown is a fit and flare cut. As a result, this wedding gown is fitted through the bodice and hips. Then, the gown flares out into a long train. The lace and lining are also stretchy so this is a comfortable wedding gown.
Abby’s perfect wedding gown has an A-line shape, and means that the bodice is fitted and the skirt flows out at the waist. Tulle is a great textile to use for an A-line wedding dress because it holds its shape without being too puffy, closer to a ballgown. However, it offers a similar level of flattery as a ballgown because it draws attention to the bride’s waist. Abby’s lace tulle wedding dress did that while exemplifying elegance.
Abby’s lace tulle wedding dress is fanciful and graceful, but it is whimsical and fairytale like. It is her perfect wedding dress, and the perfect wedding dress for her woodsy outdoor wedding ceremony and her woodsy outdoor bridal pictures.
Charlotte custom ordered her lace crepe gown from Mikaella. Her custom order included the fully lace back and cap sleeves to keep the gown modest. Mikaella is a wonderful designer to make custom changes. Their customizations are reasonably priced and impeccably done. Our in-house alterations are another option for brides, but because she lives in California, it was easier for Charlotte to do the customization with Mikaella.
The skirt of Charlotte’s wedding dress is made of crepe. Mikaella’s crepe is lightweight and molds to the body beautifully. Then the skirt is fit and flare shaped. This further highlight’s the bride’s figure. The gown is very flattering because of this lace and crepe combination.
Are you looking for a custom wedding dress? At Bitsy Bridal, we can customize gowns in-house, and can custom order from many designers, like Mikaella. If this is you, then click here to make an appointment! ❤
The Dakota gown that Chelsea chose started with a mostly illusion tulle keyhole back. This makes the gown look more backless, and still offers the support of a keyhole back wedding dress. Chelsea opted to have our custom in-house alterations experts fill the illusion tulle. We used the same Hayley Paige beading as the rest of the bodice. This accentuates the keyhole back as a stylistic feature of the wedding gown.
Our seamstresses specialize in making ever alteration flow into the wedding gown’s original design. This keeps the wedding dress from looking patched with alterations. This process is also applied to our LDS modest temple build-ups. We never want anyone to be able to tell that something has been changed on your gown. 😉
This beaded backless wedding dress with a custom keyhole back is a beautiful example of what our alterations team is capable of. For more information on our talented seamstresses, click here! And to have us find you the prefect wedding dress, click here!
Meet our real #BitsyBride, Nikki! Nikki found her perfect wedding dress here at Bitsy Bridal in Salt Lake City. (Click here to make an appointment! ❤) She chose an A-line, tulle skirt wedding gown to wear on her wedding day in the beautiful mountains. Her wedding gown is by designer Tara Keely, which is a line designed by Lazaro, but at a more budget conscious price-point. Tara Keely is a great option for brides who are looking for a glamourous wedding dress, but want to keep the price a little more comfortable!
An A-line shaped wedding gown is a very flattering cut on every bride. A-line wedding dresses are comfortable because they are not tight through the hips and legs like a fit and flare wedding dress. They also draw attention to the waist of the bride, which is her smallest part of her body. Lazaro made this wedding gown for his Tara Keely line very airy and flowy in the skirt using tulle. A tulle skirt wedding gown is very light weight, adding to the comfort of the A-line shape.
The bodice of Nikki’s dress is made from a beautiful lace that is perfect for her outdoor wedding. The lace is an abstract floral which looks lovely with the mountains and trees in the backdrop of her ceremony.
Meet our real #BitsyBride, Deidre! On her dreamy wedding day at the Tracy Aviary, Deidre wore a horsehair hem champagne wedding dress from our shop, Bitsy Bridal, in Salt Lake City, Utah. This gown is by the renowned designer, Lazaro, and is a ballgown silhouette.
This gown also has a fully beaded bodice and a sexy low back with crisscross details. Lazaro is famous for the wow factor he adds to his gowns. In this gown, the crystal-beaded bodice is fitted tightly to the waist, and the full ballgown skirt contrasts with the tight bodice to draw attention to the smallest part of the bride’s waist. A ballgown wedding dress is flattering on many body-types for this reason.
The champagne color of this wedding dress is also a universally flattering color. This horsehair hem champagne wedding dress has a deep golden undertone to the lining that ensures the color of the gown and the bride’s skin tone will not be washed out in pictures.
The horsehair hem on the skirt is the approximately three inch long trim at the bottom of each layer of the skirt. This trim is a piece of stiff material that helps the skirt hold its shape. This is especially important on a wedding gown that features a handkerchief hem like this Lazaro wedding dress..
Meet our real #BitsyBride, McKenzie! McKenzie got married at the Bright Building in Provo, Utah and wore the Juno wedding gown by designer Wtoo from our shop, Bitsy Bridal in Salt Lake City, Utah. Juno is an A-line wedding dress with a floral lace illusion neckline.
Juno’s floral lace illusion neckline is beautiful on many shapes and sizes. The plunging V-shape flatters a small bust, but because of the illusion tulle, a bride with a larger bust will felt supported and held in. The term “illusion neckline” means there is a strong tulle that covers and supports the shape of the neckline. On this wedding gown, the illusion tulle comes up to about the collar bone, but it is barely noticeable.
The illusion tulle and floral lace continues through the tank-straps and onto the back, giving the appearance of a backless wedding gown. The back also features covered buttons over the zipper closure. Juno comes in Latte, which is a cool toned nude, and Ivory. Latte is the color of our shop sample and the preference of the Bitsy Bridal staff because the contrast between the latte lining and ivory lace causes the lace to stand out more than ivory lace on ivory lining.
A sweetheart strapless ballgown is a favorite style of our stylists here at Bitsy Bridal because it is a universally flattering silhouette. The sweetheart neckline accentuates curves and flatters the shoulders. The fitted bodice and fullness of the skirt draw attention to the smallest part of the bride’s waist.
A sweetheart strapless ballgown is a very classic fairy tale wedding gown. This shape is timeless and won’t have you looking back at your wedding pictures the way you look at your mom’s dress from the 80s. 🤣 If you picture yourself looking like a princess on your wedding day, we highly recommend trying at least one ball gown wedding dress on to see if that is the look you are going for. Many designers choose to create these beautiful ball gown wedding dresses because they are flattering on all shapes. Our shop has a many ballgown wedding dresses to choose from. Normally at Bitsy Bridal, we recommend in-house modest alterations to be done by our talented staff, however Lauren already had a seamstress in mind, so she chose to use them. That’s okay with us! We still ordered her new fabric directly from the designer to match her skirt to make sure that her flutter sleeves on her A-line modest wedding dress looked perfect.

Meet our real-life #BitsyBride, Elise! Elise chose a modern crepe wedding dress, style 2105, from our ever-chic designer, Mikaella, here at Bitsy Bridal in Salt Lake City. In order to fit within LDS temple standards, Elise chose to customize her wedding dress with the designer to make it more modest, and keep it just as beautiful.
How did we make this modern crepe wedding dress modest?
Mikaella‘s style is chic and simple. Their quality is nearly unmatched for the price. Because of this high quality production, our shop trusts the Mikaella design team to do customization for our #BitsyBrides. Our extremely talented and experienced in-house alterations team is skilled at these extensive alterations as well, however sometimes it is best to let the designer do it for us. Sometimes this saves the bride time and money! This was the case for Elise and her modern crepe wedding dress.
The original design of 2105 features a wide boat-neck and a plunging V-back. With the help of Mikaella, we seamlessly brought the neckline in on either side, and raised the back. This honored Elise’s religious standards beautifully.
Check out how the dress started:
