What Colors are There?<\/h1>\n

What do they look like? And which one is for me?<\/h2>\n

One of the first things we mention to brides when color is a concern is that we don’t carry white.\u00a0For clarity’s sake, the white that most people think of is purest of white colors as Bright White.\u00a0Bright White has a blue undertone, which is what gives it such crispness. It also causes a blue hue in photographs so be aware of that.\u00a0 A few designers carry Bright White gowns, like Enchanting.\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0All of our\u00a0in store<\/a>\u00a0 gowns are ivory or other colors.<\/p>\n

Knowing the difference between white, ivory and other gown colors will make your shopping experience easier.\u00a0 So we’re going to break it down for you!Let’s keep it simple and break it into 4 categories: Ivory Family, Blush Family, Nude Family, Adventurous Colors.<\/p>\n

Ivory Family<\/h5>\n

Ivory is a “catch-all” color. Anything that is white or off-white to the naked eye but isn’t actually white. \u00a0Most often, ivory will have a warm undertone of yellow or brown which is what makes it so much more appealing than Bright White.<\/p>\n

Other names that designers will use for their ivory gowns include: natural (Mikaella<\/a>), off white, soft white, beige. Some designers will have a dress available in ivory and beige – both are versions of ivory just with different undertones or in a darker\/lighter shade. These photos feature gowns by Christos<\/a> and Alyne by Rita Vinieris<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Blush Family<\/h5>\n

Technically, blush is the lightest of pinks- almost undetectable and very light. But lately blush tends to describe any dress that looks pink. There are a numerous color names for various shades that really just boil down to being called blush.<\/p>\n

Many people are afraid that blush doesn’t look “as bridal” as something from the nude or ivory family, but rest assured it photographs beautifully and is a fantastic way to make a statement while still being a bride! Check out our recent post featuring the color blush<\/a>! In these photos we’re featuring (from the top down) Sareh Nouri<\/a>, Tara Keely<\/a>, and Saphia Blue<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Nude Family<\/h5>\n

Within the nude family we have Mocha, Champagne, Nude, Cashmere, and Cafe. Essentially these all have a brown or tan tone to them. Similar to ivory but much more saturated so there is no way they can be considered “off-white”.<\/p>\n

Cashmere, Mocha, and Cafe are essentially the same color just different names used by different designers. This color is a bit darker than \u00a0Champagne but still holds on to the soft “milky” quality. Nude is the darkest and is meant to look like tanned skin.\u00a0 We showcased the first photo in a post here\u00a0<\/a>, by Elaya Vaughn,<\/a>the second gown is one our favorite Tara Keely<\/a> gowns, and of course Lazaro<\/a> brings up the rear with his dazzling piece that we took up to Park City.<\/p>\n

Adventurous Colors<\/h5>\n

These are gowns that are anything but ordinary! From black, to lavender, to gold and grey, and the now trendy blue! These colors will really make a bride stand apart from the crowd without looking like she is going to the prom!<\/p>\n

My current favorite is our beautiful Star by Kelly Faetenini! Grey and blue are hot colors for bridal right now, so if you’re a bride with a bold side come and try on our Star!
