Our Bride Maci

Meet our Bitsy Bride, Maci.

This beautiful bride wore Calais by Aire Barcelona. Aire Barcelona is a designer who does an excellent job at taking classic details and adding a Spanish flair to it. Calais showcases this attention to detail in a wonderful way. The illusion back on this gown is a show-stopping addition to this dress.

Calais features a large illusion back that is the focal point of this gown. Lace appliqués were placed over the illusion tulle, which gives a tattoo-like effect. This illusion back ends just above the hips and mimics a large open-back feel. The sweetheart neckline sits atop an illusion tulle, therefore, it gives the opportunity for appliqué placement across the chest and up the shoulders. Calais’ lace bodice stops about mid hip, and then trickles into subtle lace placement. The flared skirt of Calais is made out of a tulle material to give movement to Calais. The buttons down the back give a beautiful finishing touch.

Maci opted to keep this stunning gown in its original form. She only needed a few minor touch-ups to make this gown fit her like a glove. However, our in-house alterations team can modify any gown to turn it in to your dream wedding dress. Whether that be a simple nip and tuck or a full modest build up.

Take a look at how amazing Maci looks in her gown during her bridals with the salt flats as background, done by Emli Photography.

Our Bride Bryndi

Meet our Bitsy Bride, Bryndi

This beautiful bride wore “Rosalind” by Ella Rosa. The Ella Rosa collection is designed by Kenneth Winston, and his elegant flair shines through. Rosalind is stunning combination of two well known features in bridal and becomes a beautiful lace and beaded wedding gown.

Rosalind features corded Alencon Lace over a layer of Chantilly Lace. The Alencon Lace begins as a heavy lace on the bodice and trickles down the skirt to show off the Chantilly lace underneath. This breath-taking double layer of lace is a showstopper in any venue or setting. However, this style is breathtaking in Bryndi’s Log Haven venue. Rosalind’s v-neckline has a sweetheart lining that will compliment all brides and their best assets. The stunning low back shows off a see-through layer of lace that gives the illusion of a larger open back. The spaghetti straps of this gown bring a delicate feeling to the construction of Rosalind. Finally, the details on this gown are stunning! The beading is placed throughout the top layer, and sparkles in all angles. The buttons down the back finish off the entire look. This beaded wedding gown is one-of-a-kind in its details and construction.

Bryndi decided to keep Rosalind in its original form. However, she worked with our in-house alterations to get this gown to fit her perfectly. Our alterations team’s talents range from a complete build up to a nip and tuck. Any bride can find what they are looking for during our in-house alterations.

Aubree Belle Photography did an incredible job at capturing this bride and her gown in this couple’s Log Haven venue. Take a look at this beautiful couple!

Our Bride Taylor

Meet our Bitsy Bride, Taylor.

This beautiful bride wore Portia by Kelly Faetanini. This New York designer’s talent ranges from sleek and elegant to whimsical and edgy. No matter your taste, you can find a gown in one of Kelly’s stunning collections.

Portia features black Chantilly lace covering the bodice and creating delicate long sleeves. The plunging v-neckline is complemented with illusion mesh and black satin trimming. The ivory satin skirt pops against the darkness of the bodice and creates a chic look. Fabric buttons that transition color down the back finishes this stunning gown. Portia also comes in an ivory option for more of a traditional look.

Although Taylor opted to keep Portia in its original form, she worked with our seamstress and our in-house alterations to get this gown to fit like a glove. Taylor wanted a little bit of sparkle in this classic gown and added a jeweled belt to this look.

Kristina Curtis Photography did a brilliant job at capturing this beauty and her gown in their Park City venue.

Our Bride Brooke

Meet our Bitsy Bride, Brooke.

This lovely bride opted for a trendy look in “Morgan“, a three-piece gown by Mikaella. Mikaella does an amazing job at merging the classic look with the latest bridal trends. Morgan is the perfect example of this!

This three-piece features a crepe crop top with a sweetheart neckline and matching high-waisted fit to flare skirt. The lace overlay top brings a delicate feeling to this party gown. The bateau neckline and cap sleeves are perfect for the ceremony, but can be easily taken off for the reception at Tag Ranch. This top originally features Swarovski crystal buttons, but Brooke swapped these out for a crepe-button option. Both of these options will look radiant in any setting!

Our Bride Carly

Meet our Bitsy Bride, Carly.

This stunning bride looked amazing in her modest Pippa gown. Pippa is part of the Blush by Hayley Paige collection. Hayley Paige is known for her quirky takes on romantic classics, and the Blush line is no different. Pippa originally features a low back with criss-cross details. However, Carly worked with our alterations team to fill in the back to be modest and temple-ready.

She built up the neckline and added a few more appliqués on the sleeves to round out this look. The horsehair trim on the tulle ballgown gives a full and lively look, that paired perfectly for Carly’s bridals.

Here is how this beautiful gown originally begins.

Our Bride Maddi

Meet our Bitsy Bride, Maddi.

This stunning bride wore “Kassidy” by Tara Keely on her big day. Tara Keely is  the little sister of Lazaro, and this collection has the same design integrity at an affordable price. Kassidy features an ivory Venise lace bodice with long sleeves and plunging v-neck. The skirt is a fitted crepe, with a chapel train. Tara Keely’s crepe is a beautiful quality and defines natural curves and is comfortable enough to wear all day.

Our Bride Jacey

Meet our Bitsy Bride, Jacey.

This beautiful bride wore a gown by Mikaella that blends classic and edgy. This ballgown skirt is made with an English netting, a softer material than tulle, and a two inch horsehair trim. The handkerchief style gives this gown a lot of movement and enhances the edgy vibes. The bodice is made with Guipure lace, which gives this daring look a romantic feel. The ruched bodice is made from the same skirt material and ties the look together.

When we think of Mikaella, clean and classic tends to come to mind. However, this gown shows how versatile of a collection this designer has.

Our Bride Lexi

Meet our Bitsy Bride, Lexi.

Our brilliant bride Lexi wore Idella by Kelly Faetanini on her special day. Lexi worked with our in-house alterations team to create a flutter sleeve on this typically sleeveless gown. She added extra beading throughout the bodice and sleeves to bring the look together, but left the back low and open. Lexi and our team left the fitted Chantilly lace skirt untouched, which does a fantastic job at tying the romantic look together. This gown is just one example of the amazing sleeve work our alterations team can do.

Lyndsey Kaye Photography did an incredible job at capturing this custom-made gown.

Our Bride Julia

Meet our Bitsy Bride, Julia.

This radiant bride wore Viv, by Nouvelle Amsale. She then customized it with our seamstress to make it modest. The original gown featured a lace appliqué bodice with spaghetti straps.

To make this gown temple ready, Julia changed the neckline from a scoop-neck into a higher v-neck. She also raised the back to follow the front. Julia then extended the lace into a full sleeve, but left this unlined to give dimension to the look.

Our seamstress does a beautiful job at turning any gown into a modest masterpiece. She left the original silk organza skirt untouched, which enhanced the beauty of the altered top.

Summer Rae captured this one-of-a-kind gown and the couple down in Southern Utah.

Our Bride Shelbi

Meet our Bitsy Bride, Shelbi.

Our beautiful bride Shelbi wore Kim by Tara Keely on her special day. Tara Keely is designed by Lazaro, and his attention to detail still shines through in this budget-friendly collection. This gown features an Alencon lace bodice on top of a full organza skirt. The ribbon sash that sits around the natural waist, gives this airy gown a touch of feminine beauty. In addition to the sash, the Venise lace appliqués subtly tie the look together. Kim comes in mocha or ivory, either one of them complimenting a wide range of skin tones. This gown is a perfect combination of comfortable and classic.

Dezember Photography captured the stunning couple at Homestead Resort. This venue is a personal favorite of the staff of Bitsy Bridal! Both our manager and I picked this venue for our weddings.

Our Bride Katina

Meet our Bitsy Bride, Katina.

Our stunning bride Katina wore an equally stunning gown by Nouvelle Amsale. This line is made with the same craftsmanship as the Amsale collection, but will allow you and your wedding budget to say “yes” to that floral arch or dessert bar.

Myka is constructed of a crepe material that creates beautiful and clean lines down the fit to flare skirt. The sheer lace bodice compliments the sweetheart neckline and adds a touch of romance to this timeless gown. Similarly, the matching lace appliqué on the train makes us swoon.  Katina turned this show-stopper into an East Coast dream in her Virginian venue.

Some of the Best Things Come in Twos!

A two piece gown can really make a statement and add to your comfort!

Two piece gowns are in! They are chic and comfortable and will definitely make you stand apart from the crowd! Today I want to highlight a couple of gowns from a couple of our favorite designers, Hayley Paige and Mikaella and talk about the look of two piece gowns!

This gown is by the lovely Hayley Paige and her, exclusive to Bitsy, Blush collection! This two piece gown gives you the best of both worlds.  A little bit of poof and some boho lace in the bodice.  With a gown like this you can still feel comfortable while making a bold entrance and a stylish fashion statement.

It comes with the lace bodice with a crepe camisole underneath so you can wear lace for the ceremony and then have an adorable all crepe look for the reception!

Gowns for All Shapes and Sizes!

Size Inclusive Bridal!

Bridal Sizing is Crazy! Let us Help!

Let’s get right to it! Bridal sizing is tricky and unfortunately for everyone, more often than not a gown will not fit you perfectly when you try it on.  This is true for small brides, tall brides, brides with curves, and brides without. We do our best to be size inclusive so we can help you find the gown of your dreams, but sometimes we can fall a bit short.

At Bitsy, we try to keep a wide range of styles and designers for every bride, but unfortunately we cannot carry every size of each gown in our salon.  We understand the frustration of the gown not zipping, or having to look beyond the numerous clips. Its rough. As a store we are trying our best to accommodate more brides of all sizes. This includes bringing in our new designer Rebecca Schoneveld and her inclusive bridal line!

43C. London Side-Rebecca Schoneveld-2-127.jpg

Rebecca designs all of her gowns with all sizes in mind to ensure everyone looks amazing on their wedding day! All of her gowns are gorgeous in person and have an amazing quality!

Slowly but surely the wedding industry is becoming more inclusive for brides of all shapes and sizes, because everyone deserves to feel beautiful on their special day!  Unfortunately there are still some hurdles to jump through for some brides. Here are a couple tips to make your bridal experience as stress free as possible!

©RachelGomezPhotography-RS2018-look19-2.jpg

For “Plus Sized” Brides:

Keep in mind that some shops, especially those with a higher price point, might not have your size in stock of a specific gown. At our boutique if a gown catches your eye that too small for you we will do our best to give you an idea of how it will fit on you when it comes in your size. We know its difficult to imagine sometimes, but we will try our best!

Don’t settle! Your dream dress is out there and don’t just settle for a gown you hate simply because the sample fits. You deserve your dream dress just like every other bride!

Understand how designers work. Some designers may have to alter the pattern of the gown to accommodate a larger figure. Sometimes they have to charge extra to do this. This is purely because it takes some time and they want to make sure the proportions are perfect for you so you look your best.

©RachelGomezPhotography-RS2018-look2-17.jpg

For Tall Brides:

Keep in mind that most wedding gowns are sized on 5′ 8″ models, so if you are that height or taller know that the proportions aren’t quite right in any sample by any designer.

If you want to wear heels, let your stylist know! Sometimes a designer can add a couple complimentary inches to your gown, but other times they might charge for a extra length. We want to help you find the gown of your dreams in you budget and will take the desire for extra length into consideration.

5a.Rebecca_Schoneveld_Briana_Top_Shannon_Skirt-11.jpg

For Petite Brides:

The problems that plague tall brides also plague shorter and smaller brides as well. Again, this is because gowns are sized on 5′ 8″ models it brings problems for those who are significantly shorter than that size.  Hems can get expensive especially if the dress has an intricate pattern or lace.  Designers and seamstresses have a solution though called hollow to hem.

Hollow to hem is much like when you have a picture online and you drag the corner in to shrink it, keeping the proportions; but for a dress! It can be beneficial for both tall and short brides, but much like all problems a bride will face it will cost a bit extra.

Talk to your stylist and let them know if you are planning to wear heels or are concerned about losing patterns in the dress due to hem. They love to help you out and will do their best to show you how amazing you will look!

Wedding gowns are tricky business and we want to make is a stress free and fun as we can! We hope that with our new size inclusive designer we can help everyone feel amazing on their special day! You can check out her latest collection here where I pulled some of these gorgeous photos!  Don’t forget to check back with us for more info to help your bridal experience!
