This May we are showcasing an absolutely dazzling gown by Christos! This light and effervescent gown is the perfect dress to celebrate spring. The delicate tulle and lace perfectly capture the gentle beauty of spring.
Christos is a master of fabrics and design. Each of their gowns feel light as a feather and look amazing without being see through or baggy. This is very surprising for a ball gown of this size that usually requires a lot of thick and heavy linings to get to just the right level of poof.
This gown is the epitome of romance with its delicate lace detailing through the front and the back. The photographer, Lauren Bledsoe, did such a beautiful job capturing this in these fabulous pictures! Don’t be fooled by this gown! It may seem paper thin and easily damaged, but this gown can definitely hold its own and take a hit or two without looking completely ruined.
Trends come and go, and styles fade and change, but there are a few staples of fashion that will continue be a symbol of refinement and class. This beautiful wedding at the Capitol Building here in Salt Lake City with the talented Rachel Lauket really showcases this style.
This gorgeous Alyne by Rita Vinieris gown whispers classical in every way! The beautiful ivory satin with delicate and carefully placed jewels is not only absolutely stunning on this bride, but it is also a timeless statement as well. The elegant fit and flare cut flatters the brides figure and adds to the ageless approach.
Even with the jeweled details this gown is gown still has an air of simplicity about it. If you dream of a classic and simple look be sure to check out our last post about Industrial Elegance for a modern take on a simple style.

One of the first things we mention to brides when color is a concern is that we don’t carry white. For clarity’s sake, the white that most people think of is purest of white colors as Bright White. Bright White has a blue undertone, which is what gives it such crispness. It also causes a blue hue in photographs so be aware of that. A few designers carry Bright White gowns, like Enchanting. All of our in store gowns are ivory or other colors.
Knowing the difference between white, ivory and other gown colors will make your shopping experience easier. So we’re going to break it down for you!Let’s keep it simple and break it into 4 categories: Ivory Family, Blush Family, Nude Family, Adventurous Colors.
Ivory is a “catch-all” color. Anything that is white or off-white to the naked eye but isn’t actually white. Most often, ivory will have a warm undertone of yellow or brown which is what makes it so much more appealing than Bright White.
Other names that designers will use for their ivory gowns include: natural (Mikaella), off white, soft white, beige. Some designers will have a dress available in ivory and beige – both are versions of ivory just with different undertones or in a darker/lighter shade. These photos feature gowns by Christos and Alyne by Rita Vinieris.
Technically, blush is the lightest of pinks- almost undetectable and very light. But lately blush tends to describe any dress that looks pink. There are a numerous color names for various shades that really just boil down to being called blush.
Many people are afraid that blush doesn’t look “as bridal” as something from the nude or ivory family, but rest assured it photographs beautifully and is a fantastic way to make a statement while still being a bride! Check out our recent post featuring the color blush! In these photos we’re featuring (from the top down) Sareh Nouri, Tara Keely, and Saphia Blue.
Within the nude family we have Mocha, Champagne, Nude, Cashmere, and Cafe. Essentially these all have a brown or tan tone to them. Similar to ivory but much more saturated so there is no way they can be considered “off-white”.
Cashmere, Mocha, and Cafe are essentially the same color just different names used by different designers. This color is a bit darker than Champagne but still holds on to the soft “milky” quality. Nude is the darkest and is meant to look like tanned skin. We showcased the first photo in a post here , by Elaya Vaughn, the second gown is one our favorite Tara Keely gowns, and of course Lazaro brings up the rear with his dazzling piece that we took up to Park City.
These are gowns that are anything but ordinary! From black, to lavender, to gold and grey, and the now trendy blue! These colors will really make a bride stand apart from the crowd without looking like she is going to the prom!
My current favorite is our beautiful Star by Kelly Faetenini! Grey and blue are hot colors for bridal right now, so if you’re a bride with a bold side come and try on our Star! The other gowns showcased in this post are also by Kelly Faetenini and Sareh Nouri who are a part of our exclusive collection.
Hopefully this helped break down the confusing world of bridal fabric colors. Don’t forget to check back with us for more info to help your bridal experience! If you want to make an appointment to try on some gorgeous gowns of all colors call us or make an appointment online!
This month we are showcasing a dress that really stands apart from the rest! We say that about every gown, I know, but this one is definitely one of a kind. This beautiful shoot was done by Kristina Curtis.
This gown has a gorgeous mocha color that makes it stand a part from your standard ivory dress. This gown also reminds me of a Greek Goddess, and this look is elevated by the addition of gold jewelry and headband. It’s exotic nature really separates it from your standard look. If you are looking for something other than your standard ivory dress, check out our post about Bridal Colors to find something unique to you!
The asymmetrical off the shoulder is so chic and dynamic and adds to the exotic look of the gown. I really admire the risks that this gown takes and how it pushes boundaries on what is standard for wedding dresses. If you’re looking for something a little more traditional than this piece check out our highlight of Kenneth Winston, who takes classic to another level!

This bride really rocked one of our personal favorites from the Ella Rosa line. If this designer can do anything its provide a fit that will make you look and feel fantastic on your special day! The photographer, Megan Robinson, was able to capture this beautifully!
The unique flower appliques against the champagne fabric really make this dress pop! Ivory and white are gorgeous, don’t get me wrong, but lately colored gowns are in! Champagne, mocha, cashmere, blue, black, and blush are dazzling colors that can take the cake!
Blush is a trendy and sophisticated statement that can elevate the femininity of a gown and personalize your dress. What’s fantastic about it is that even in the photos the delicate pink undertones don’t flash or scream at the audience. It just whispers “I’m fun, I’m unique”. This is a beautiful Tara Keely design! They have an outstanding and fun dramatic style that definitely stand apart from the crowd. Check out our other fantastic designers here!
This bride totally rocked this dazzling color and made it her own! This romantic look is balanced with the delicate and fresh decor. Thanks to Stephanie Lorraine for the amazing photos!
When it comes to a gown, what ultimately matters is that you love it, and a dash of color might bring you head over heels for the gown of your dreams!
For February’s dress of the month we are showcasing a gown with delicate and stunning pizzazz from Tulle New York!
Since February is the month celebrating love and romance we decided to give this romantic dress its day in the sun! This gown from Tulle New York’s Antionio Gual line is absolutely stunning!
This gown adores the beautiful breeze that accompanied it on this shoot done by Mary Jessica Photography! If you have an eye for detail you would notice that this dress has adorable and glamorous polka dots on the skirt and gentle sparkles on the bodice. These small details are an eye catching and unique aspect of this gown that set it apart from others.
With a deep v-neck in the front and back, this gown provides a very appealing silhouette to balance the fullness that comes from the skirt. This gown really fits the bride looking for unique detail, light volume, and a flattering cut.

Time for another styled shoot! This particular shoot was for Utah Bride Blog and featured this lovely gown from Mikaella Bridal. The addition of a mid-century lounge space, metal accents, and a bright backdrop made the perfect combination for this industrial wedding.
We love Mikaella gowns, and they fit so well for an industrial style wedding! This lovely gem, named Margo, is a crepe dress with an a-line fit and amazing train. It’s simple elegance really makes this bride shine. Check out some more of our Mikaella gowns if you are drawn to the chic simplicity of this beautiful piece.
We love the simple geometric style this couple used in their wedding! The shapes really bring a modern glam and industrial feel that compliment the gown so beautifully.
Even their cake looks like it is cut from a beautiful slab of marble! From the lighting to the decor and, more importantly, to the dress, this couple knocked it out of the park as far as the industrial style is concerned!
If you’re loving this look and want to find a gown of your own to compliment this elegant style give us a call or schedule an appointment here and we can discover the gown to elevate your industrial wedding! Special thanks to Jalene Taylor for the amazing photography!
This January we’re showcasing a gorgeous wedding dress on a gorgeous bride for our wedding dress of the month!
This dress is a dazzler for sure with an open back, full skirt, and long train from Mariana Semone.
Some brides may shy away from ball gown style wedding dress because it’s not as figure hugging as a mermaid or sheath, but a dramatic back is the perfect way to add a bit of spice while still feeling like royalty.
This wedding dress screams business in the front and party in the back! A very classical and clean look in comparison to our last featured wedding dress Pippa.
If you look closely, you can see the delicate lace detailing throughout the voluminous skirt that completes this strongly silhouetted gown inspired by nature.
This gown is absolutely stunning, and if you’re an elegant bride looking for a dash of je ne sais quoi to classical silhouette, stop on by to see some of our unique collection of ball gowns and dazzling backs! Check out some more of Kenzie Victory’s work as well, because these photos are phenomenal! Don’t forget to check out our helpful tips before you come and make sure to check back for our other favorites!
Anyone else wishing that Fall Colors would get here a little faster? I mean who doesn’t want to be a real life meme by curling up on their couch with a pumpkin spiced latte and a cozy blanket.
I am just aching for sweater weather and knee-high boots. Are you wistful for crisp cool air and changing leaves like me? Then take a look at this gorgeous styled shoot. It features one of our favorite model, Jordan Blackhurst. Several of our shoots featured her lovely work.
This shoot is unique in that it is outdoors but maintains the simplicity of an indoor, industrial shoot. The colors are incredible and I just can’t get over the use of light.
This beautiful mocha colored gown is from the Tara Keely line – designed by Lazaro. The chunky lace on the bodice is offset by a skirt of soft organza.
With a plunging neckline and open back, this dramatic gown is not for the faint of heart.
Most people prefer full color photos but I have to admit that I am a sucker for a good black-and-white! I love the details and contrast that you pick up in a colorless image. But, these photos are absolutely gorgeous no matter the color.
Read about our Tara Keely, designed by Lazaro, right HERE!
We’ve been showing you a lot of our styled shoots lately so I’m going to take a little bit of a different approach on this one. This is one of the many shoots that I personally helped with. I was there for the entire thing (freezing my fanny off might I add) and the bridesmaid in the shoot…that’s my old friend Savanna.
Go Behind the Scenes at Jeremy Ranch
Shoots have carefully planned call times so everything goes off without a hitch. The day of this shoot, those call times went out the window. Several creatives got caught in a huge traffic jam in a canyon, another had her car broken into, and I was recovering from a concussion and had to hitch a ride from Dear Old Dad.
Eventually, we all got there and got back on track.
This shoot capitalized on the venue, Jeremy Ranch, with a design focused on a contrast between rich tones and bright airy accents.
This Alyne by Rita Vinieris gown was such a perfect addition to this lush shoot that I’m not sure it could get any prettier.
Here are the Ceremony Shots
Beautiful shots right? Absolutely gorgeous! Even more impressive considering there are 10 people crowded behind the lens, a table full of scattered hair and makeup supplies about 10 feet to one side and a fully staged catering table off to the other.
Also, these two models met about 10 minutes before the first shot.
This was the third week of January 2017 so it was well below freezing. Everyone working this shoot is standing outside in snow boots and parkas. Our model, Jordan, is outside is a paper thin dress. Don’t let the sleeves fool you, they’re made of mesh and lace – absolutely no warmth there. Also, the gown had a sheer back.
Plus, I have never worn a men’s suit but I can’t imagine it was as warm as my down parka!
Let me tell you, trying to take pictures in the middle of a field of snow, in a wedding gown, while minimizing tracks that the photographer has to edit out is NOT easy.
This is probably the craziest shoot I’ve been to. The most effort, most energy, most time and most anxiety but it was also the most fun. I think it shows in photographer Chad Braithwaite’s photos.
I loved working on this shoot, especially with the people! Props to the models for standing in below freezing weather without coats and still smiling like it was balmy. Also a special shout out to Julie Maughan for give Yours Truly a ride down the canyon so I didn’t have to Uber-it while carrying a designer gown. I had a concussion remember – no driving allowed.
I hope you had fun with this little glimpse behind the scenes of our style shoots. After all, I know I always have fun participating in them.
Look below for all the talented vendors that participated in this shoot.
